Industries we serve
Agriculture and AgriTech
Systems connecting farm, procurement, processing and market: built for rural connectivity and seasonal working patterns.
Sector challenges
The pressures organisations in this sector face
Stated as we encounter them in delivery, rather than as generic sector commentary.
Rural connectivity limits
Applications must function where data coverage is unreliable or absent.
Fragmented supply base
Procurement from many small producers makes traceability and payment complex.
Seasonal concentration
Activity concentrates into short windows, making capacity and support planning difficult.
Traceability expectations
Buyers and exporters increasingly require provenance evidence to source.
Technology opportunities
Where technology realistically helps
Not everything that is technically possible is worth doing. These are the areas where we consistently see a defensible return in this sector.
Farm and plot records
Digital records of cultivation, inputs and yield linked to producer and plot.
Procurement digitisation
Weighment, grading, receipt and payment captured at collection point.
Traceability to source
Batch linkage from plot through processing to shipment.
Advisory delivery
Localised guidance delivered through simple mobile and messaging channels.
Use cases
What we build for agriculture and agritech organisations
- Producer and plot registries with cultivation records
- Procurement applications for collection centres with offline capture
- Traceability platforms from farm to shipment
- Farmer advisory and communication applications
- Input distribution and credit tracking
- Cold storage and warehouse management
- Yield, quality and price analytics
Does Acmez work with agriculture and agritech organisations?
Yes. Systems connecting farm, procurement, processing and market: built for rural connectivity and seasonal working patterns. Engagements run as fixed-scope projects, dedicated teams, offshore development centres or managed services.
Security considerations
Sector-specific security requirements
Controls we design into systems for this sector as standard, not as an optional hardening exercise afterwards.
- Producer personal and financial data protected with clear consent
- Offline data integrity with tamper-evident synchronisation
- Device management for shared collection-centre hardware
- Fraud controls on weighment, grading and payment records
- Simple, robust authentication suited to low-literacy contexts
Regulatory context
Compliance considerations
Agricultural supply chains face food safety requirements under FSSAI where processing is involved, export documentation and phytosanitary requirements for international shipment, and increasingly buyer-imposed traceability standards. Producer personal and financial data falls under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, with particular care warranted where producers have limited digital literacy. Our systems support these record-keeping and traceability requirements; compliance remains with the operating business.
An important limitation
Acmez builds systems that support compliance obligations and provides the technical evidence assessors ask for. We do not issue certifications, and we make no claim that Acmez or a client holds any particular certification. Regulatory compliance remains the responsibility of the operating organisation.
How we work
How a agriculture and agritech engagement runs
Adapted to sector constraints, but consistent in structure.
Sector discovery
We map your processes, systems, regulatory obligations and the constraints specific to agriculture and agritech.
Solution design
Architecture, integration approach, security model and a phased delivery plan with agreed success measures.
Pilot delivery
A bounded first phase that proves the approach on real data and real users before wider commitment.
Rollout
Phased extension with training, documentation and a documented fallback position at each step.
Support and evolve
Defined service levels, monitoring, periodic review and a managed backlog for enhancements.

Questions & answers
Questions from agriculture and agritech organisations
Cannot find what you need? Our team responds to technical and commercial questions within one business day.
Ask a questionYes. Collection-centre applications operate fully offline (capturing weighment, grading, receipts and payments locally) and synchronise when connectivity is available, with reconciliation on the server.
Through icon-led interfaces, regional language support, voice prompts where appropriate, minimal text entry and workflows tested with actual users rather than assumed.
