Industries we serve
Banking and Financial Services
Lending, payments, collections and operations systems where correctness, traceability and controlled change are non-negotiable.
Sector challenges
The pressures organisations in this sector face
Stated as we encounter them in delivery, rather than as generic sector commentary.
Legacy core constraints
Core systems that cannot change quickly hold back everything built around them.
Manual reconciliation
Matching across ledgers, statements and gateways consumes substantial operational effort.
Regulatory change velocity
Reporting and control requirements change faster than rigid systems can absorb.
Elevated threat exposure
Financial institutions face persistent and well-resourced attackers.
Technology opportunities
Where technology realistically helps
Not everything that is technically possible is worth doing. These are the areas where we consistently see a defensible return in this sector.
API layer over the core
Stable interfaces that let new products be built without touching the core system.
Reconciliation automation
Automated matching leaving only genuine exceptions for human review.
Digital onboarding
Faster customer activation with checks maintained rather than relaxed.
Document intelligence
Automated extraction from statements, KYC documents and agreements.
Use cases
What we build for banking and financial services organisations
- Loan origination and servicing platforms
- Collections and recovery management systems
- Payment gateway integration and settlement reconciliation
- Digital customer onboarding with document verification
- Reconciliation automation across ledgers and gateways
- Regulatory and management reporting platforms
- Customer portals and mobile banking interfaces
- Fraud and anomaly detection on transaction data
Does Acmez work with banking and financial services organisations?
Yes. Lending, payments, collections and operations systems where correctness, traceability and controlled change are non-negotiable. Engagements run as fixed-scope projects, dedicated teams, offshore development centres or managed services.
Security considerations
Sector-specific security requirements
Controls we design into systems for this sector as standard, not as an optional hardening exercise afterwards.
- Strong authentication and privileged access management across all administrative paths
- Immutable audit trails and enforced segregation of duties
- Encryption with managed key custody and rotation
- Continuous monitoring with defined incident response playbooks
- Independent penetration testing on a defined cycle and after significant change
- Third-party and integration risk assessment across the estate
Regulatory context
Compliance considerations
Financial institutions in India operate under Reserve Bank of India directions, SEBI or IRDAI requirements depending on activity, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and prevention of money laundering obligations. Payment systems additionally fall under PCI DSS. Data localisation directions apply to payment system data. We design systems that support these obligations (audit trails, access control, retention, localisation-aware hosting and structured regulatory reporting) and document how each is addressed. Regulatory compliance, licensing and certification remain the responsibility of the regulated entity.
An important limitation
Acmez builds systems that support compliance obligations and provides the technical evidence assessors ask for. We do not issue certifications, and we make no claim that Acmez or a client holds any particular certification. Regulatory compliance remains the responsibility of the operating organisation.
How we work
How a banking and financial services engagement runs
Adapted to sector constraints, but consistent in structure.
Sector discovery
We map your processes, systems, regulatory obligations and the constraints specific to banking and financial services.
Solution design
Architecture, integration approach, security model and a phased delivery plan with agreed success measures.
Pilot delivery
A bounded first phase that proves the approach on real data and real users before wider commitment.
Rollout
Phased extension with training, documentation and a documented fallback position at each step.
Support and evolve
Defined service levels, monitoring, periodic review and a managed backlog for enhancements.

Questions & answers
Questions from banking and financial services organisations
Cannot find what you need? Our team responds to technical and commercial questions within one business day.
Ask a questionYes. The usual approach is an API layer over the core, allowing new digital products to be built at their own pace without modifying the core system itself.
Through architecture and hosting decisions made at design time: selecting in-country regions, controlling replication boundaries and documenting data residency for each system so that it can be evidenced to a regulator.
