Industries we serve
Government and Public Sector
Public-facing and departmental systems built for accessibility, transparency, auditability and long service life.
Sector challenges
The pressures organisations in this sector face
Stated as we encounter them in delivery, rather than as generic sector commentary.
Departmental silos
Citizens navigate the organisational structure rather than the service they need.
Universal accessibility obligation
Public services must work for every citizen, including those with disabilities and limited connectivity.
Procurement and continuity
Systems must remain maintainable across supplier changes and long service lives.
Transparency and audit
Decisions and transactions require durable, inspectable records.
Technology opportunities
Where technology realistically helps
Not everything that is technically possible is worth doing. These are the areas where we consistently see a defensible return in this sector.
Single citizen entry point
Services organised by citizen need rather than by department.
Grievance tracking
Logged, routed and escalated complaints with visible status for the citizen.
Document digitisation
Extraction and indexing of records that currently exist only on paper.
Open data publication
Public dashboards and datasets supporting transparency commitments.
Use cases
What we build for government and public sector organisations
- Citizen service portals for applications, payments and certificates
- Grievance redressal systems with escalation and reporting
- Departmental workflow and file movement systems
- Scheme enrolment, verification and disbursement tracking
- Asset and works management for public infrastructure
- Record digitisation and indexed archival
- Public dashboards and open data publication
Does Acmez work with government and public sector organisations?
Yes. Public-facing and departmental systems built for accessibility, transparency, auditability and long service life. Engagements run as fixed-scope projects, dedicated teams, offshore development centres or managed services.
Security considerations
Sector-specific security requirements
Controls we design into systems for this sector as standard, not as an optional hardening exercise afterwards.
- Protection of citizen data with strict purpose limitation
- Complete audit trails on decisions, approvals and disbursements
- Availability protection for services with statutory deadlines
- Segregation of duties and maker-checker on financial transactions
- Documented data residency and hosting arrangements
Regulatory context
Compliance considerations
Government systems in India are shaped by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Right to Information Act, e-governance standards issued by MeitY, accessibility guidelines under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, and departmental procurement and audit rules. Where Aadhaar-based authentication is involved, UIDAI requirements apply. We build to these expectations (accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA, complete audit trails, documented residency and open standards) and provide the evidence departments need. Statutory compliance remains with the department.
An important limitation
Acmez builds systems that support compliance obligations and provides the technical evidence assessors ask for. We do not issue certifications, and we make no claim that Acmez or a client holds any particular certification. Regulatory compliance remains the responsibility of the operating organisation.
How we work
How a government and public sector engagement runs
Adapted to sector constraints, but consistent in structure.
Sector discovery
We map your processes, systems, regulatory obligations and the constraints specific to government and public sector.
Solution design
Architecture, integration approach, security model and a phased delivery plan with agreed success measures.
Pilot delivery
A bounded first phase that proves the approach on real data and real users before wider commitment.
Rollout
Phased extension with training, documentation and a documented fallback position at each step.
Support and evolve
Defined service levels, monitoring, periodic review and a managed backlog for enhancements.

Questions & answers
Questions from government and public sector organisations
Cannot find what you need? Our team responds to technical and commercial questions within one business day.
Ask a questionEvery public-facing interface is built to WCAG 2.2 AA: keyboard operability, screen-reader compatibility, sufficient contrast, resizable text and clear focus indication, verified by testing rather than assumed.
Through mainstream technology choices, open standards, complete documentation, source code held by the department and runbooks maintained throughout the engagement, so another supplier can take over without reverse engineering.
